Nominations for the 2010-2011 STEP (elementary gifted education) class for current third graders are now being accepted through February 12th
We are again offering free breakfast for all students during the MSP testing period
Studies show that students perform better on standardized tests and are better prepared to concentrate when they are nourished. We would like to support MSP performance by offering free breakfast in the cafeteria for all students (they still do their PIN numbers, but the full price kids do not have to pay)

Mission Statement
At Pioneer, we dedicate ourselves to students and their families, to inspire and empower children to achieve their greatest academic and social potential.
The Pioneer School Community
The Pioneer staff provides a highly positive environment where staff continually assess and improve the quality of the school’s academic and social programs. Pioneer is committed to a School Improvement Plan that emphasizes three academic areas: reading, math, and writing. Pioneer continues to see tremendous increases as we close the achievement gap in reading and math as demonstrated by MSP results.
Another area of emphasis focuses on educating staff and students in the area of bullying prevention. The staff at Pioneer looks closely at the incidence of bullying and methods of prevention and intervention. Staff has worked hard to create a bully-free environment. School-wide training in recognizing the characteristics of bullying behavior and identifying bullying prevention strategies take place each year.
