Years of Service Celebrated
Mr. DeFrancesco, Mrs. Bulson, Mrs. Enz, Mrs. Smay, and Mrs. Grant were recognized by School Board President Janice Nelson May 19th for their years of service to public education. Each year the district recognizes employees in increments of five years. Employees receive a certificate and a years of service pin. This year, the recognition was for 10, 10, 15, 25, and 10 years respectively. Mrs. Cook, the Office Manager of Terminal Park was also recognized for her service of 30 years. Mrs. Cook received special recognition at a school board meeting.
Students, Parents, and Staff Celebrate with a BBQ
Terminal Park held its annual BBQ Thursday, May 28th. The weather cooperated and the food exceeded expectations. The kitchen staff wowed attendees with tasty BBQ baked beans, macaroni salad, Italian green salad, watermelon, and all the extras for a delicious BBQ cheeseburger. Mrs. Shellie Wilson's crack kitchen staff served one of the largest crowds in recent history with no waiting necessary. Special thank you to Mr. Glidewell for setting up the playground for the picnic style lunch, and Mrs. Swinney for helping serve up the burgers.
School Year Winding Down but Expectations Still High
Even though there are not many days remaining in the 2008-09 school year, the staff of Terminal Park are still holding students to high expectations. New information is introduced daily, so attendance remains critical for student success. Mr. Carstens is also still expecting students to maintain the dress code. Tank top straps must be at least three student finger-widths or 2 adult finger-widths. While flip flops are comfortable and fashionable, they pose a danger, especially on the playground. |
