Text Box:      I am very excited to be teaching the 5th Grade STEP (Student Teacher Enrichment Program) class again this year. This is a wonderful group of students  and I hope to make this a memorable year for your child.       The 2006-2007 school year is my fourth year at Terminal Park and in the Auburn School District,  my twenty-eighth year of teaching elementary school.  I received my teaching degree through Western Washington University and my Masters in Elementary Administration through Central Washington University. My husband, Ken, works for Weyerhaeuser.  Ken assists me in all areas of my life, as do my two children. Scott is a freshman at the University of Washington and Rebecca is a tenth grader at Auburn Riverside High School.      I am looking forward to seeing each of you again, or meeting you if I haven’t had the chance.  Several opportunities are available to us.  We’ll be having the star party with the Tacoma astronomical society on Sept. 15th from 8:00pm to 11:00 pm in the gym.  I will Text Box: have curriculum night on Sept. 19th in Room 201 from 7:00 to 8:00 and Open House is Tuesday, Sept.26th  from 5:00-8:00 pm. This report will indicate how your child is doing in all subject areas and lists any missing work that your child may have. The first progress report will be sent home September 13th.  I expect your child to show you the report, have you sign it, Text Box: and return it to me by Friday. All missing work should be completed and handed in with the progress report. The signed, returned slips will be considered an assignment in study skills. Text Box: Star Party September 15th at 8:00 pm. We’ll start in the gym making planispheres, and then move to the field to look at the planets and the stars through the large telescopes.  This will take place on the Terminal Park gym and field.
