There are 21 students in our class. We have 13 girls and 8 boys. We are busy learning all day long! Here is a look at our schedule.
SCHEDULE
8:40 School Begins – students have breakfast and work on morning work.
9:10 Monday – Thursdays students join Mrs. Hamilton to learn about study social studies, science, music and art.
9:55 Walk to Reading (small group reading instruction at each students instructional reading level).
10:40 Whole Class reading instruction.
11:40 Lunch-12:10-12:40 Recess
12:40 Calendar and Math
1:40 Read Aloud and Language Arts
2:10 Recess
2:25 Centers and Closing Activities
3:10 Students return home.
On Monday we have library (don’t forget your books!) and on Fridays we have PE in the afternoon.
We are working on letters in whole class instruction and will begin our reading series on October 10th with the story I AM SIX.
In math we will begin Unit 2 on October 3rd. We will be learning about number grids and number lines, readiness for addition and subtraction, math boxes, pennies, nickels and telling time.
