Text Box: spelling.  We say what we want to write, then we write what letter we feel in our mouths.  If we know the correct book spelling, we just write it!

Have your child sing the behavior song to you:

Have your child tell you Thumper the Rabbit’s Rule (Say something nice or say nothing at all).
We learned about the Think Time procedure.  Please remember that we will contact you after the third Think Time in one week.
Text Box: We practiced the rules for when we are out at recess and the rules for some of the equipment on the playground.  We will continue this practice next week as well.  Please ask your child what he/she is to do when the recess teacher blows the whistle three times.
The Washington elementary handbook was sent home on Tuesday.  Please remember to read, discuss, fill out, and return the information with your child. 
WRITING
We began writing in our journals.  We are learning how to use kid Text Box:  OUR SCHEDULE
*P.E. is on Tuesday.  Please make sure your child wears appropriate shoes and clothing.
*LIBRARY is on Tuesday.
*Math with Ms. Ironmonger is on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.

We read many stories this week.  Have your child tell you about them.  We also worked with the letters m and s.  We reviewed the words a, my, the, and I.

 

Important Notes

 

Please help your child to remember to bring her/his folder to school every day.

 

Transitioning to a full day of school is difficult.  Please have your child get plenty of rest by having a designated bedtime.

 

Open House is Sept. 21st!

 

Please give us time to learn our routine for getting lunch.  Visitors for lunch are welcome starting in October.   Remember to check in with the office first, please!
