I am pleased to welcome you and your child to Washington for the 2009/2010 school year. Myself, along with the entire Washington Staff , look forward to working closely with you to provide your child/children with the best educational experience possible. We are committed to developing new and strengthening existing partnerships with our families to promote student achievement. I value and will be actively seeking your input, comments, and suggestions throughout the year in order to make that happen.

Washington has many exciting activities and events planned for this school year. You can find information through the following communication venues: Open House/Ice-Cream Social, all school newsletters, along with grade level and PTA newsletters, reader board, building Web Site, phone messages and personal calls. I want to strongly encourage you to consider volunteer opportunities. Please talk with teachers and staff to find the activity or time that best fits your schedule. Family involvement is closely tied to student success both academically and socially. Remember, you can make that special difference in a child’s education by volunteering.
