Special Events

Third grade is full of many new learning opportunities. We begin the year with a review of adding and subtracting whole numbers with regrouping and continue with geometry, measurement, and multiplication. Students learn to write cursive capital and lowercase letters and learn to type using a self paced word processing program. In the spring, students learn about three different Native American tribes and visit the White River Museum here in Auburn.

Third grade is a big transition as students are leaving the primary grades. Homework comes home nightly and due the following day. Students receive letter grades on assignments and report cards. In order to help with this transition, third graders are introduced to using a binder and planner to help with daily organization.
