NEWS RELEASE
Auburn School Board of Directors Recognize
Dick Scobee Elementary Fifth Grader

On Monday, January 28, the Auburn School Board of Directors will recognize Mackenzie Walker, a Dick Scobee Elementary School fifth grader, for her great attitude.  “Mackenzie is a great kid,” says her teacher, Tim Pfab. “She is nice and friendly to everyone and she is always looking for a way to help others.  She is bright and creative and works hard in school.  She also has a great sense of humor. All of these wonderful qualities do not go to her head.  Mackenzie is very humble.  She is known throughout the school by students and staff and is well-liked by all,” says Mr. Pfab.  Last year, Mackenzie worked as a Conflict Manager at her school.  Conflict Managers help resolve disputes between students at recess time.  This year, she is a Student Greeter in her classroom.  When a new student joins the class she helps him/her get settled and find their way around the school.  Mackenzie played on the school volleyball team earlier this year and she is currently on the basketball team.  She studies dance with a local dance organization and was in a production of Annie at the Auburn Dinner Theatre.  When she grows up she wants to be a dolphin trainer because she loves dolphins.

For more information, contact Dick Scobee Elementary School principal, Starla Audette, at (253) 931-4984.
