Michael McKinley Selected as One of Five Outstanding
Physical Educators by King County Physical Activity Coalition

Michael McKinley, Pioneer Elementary School P.E. teacher, has been selected as one of five outstanding physical educators in King County public schools by the King County Physical Activity Coalition.  The selection is based upon rigorous criteria such as: operating a success-oriented program where students come first; having high expectations for all students; using authentic assessments; integrating academic concepts through movement, and enhancing instruction with technology.

This is the third year of this awards program which honors P.E. teachers for their excellent work. 

In November, Mr. McKinley’s school, Pioneer Elementary, was recognized by Governor Gary Locke for being a state champion in the President’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sports.  Only three schools in Washington State were accorded this special distinction.
