NEWS RELEASE
District's Post-Secondary Night Offers Students and Parents
Options for Life Beyond High School

The Auburn School District Career and Guidance staff will be hosting the ninth annual Post-Secondary Night on Wednesday, February 11th from 7 to 9 p.m. at Auburn Riverside High School.  The evening’s program will allow students and parents to explore various options such as college, military, and job training that are available to students after high school graduation.  All middle school and high school students and their parents are encouraged to attend this event.  The evening will begin with a short presentation in the Auburn Riverside main gym at 7:00 p.m.  Students and parents are then invited to attend break-out sessions to learn more about four-year public colleges, four-year private colleges, community colleges, technical colleges, college athletics and NCAA eligibility, transition resources for special needs students, college credit in high school, apprenticeships, Tech Prep programs, and financial aid.  There will also be an Information Fair in the Auburn Riverside Commons.  More than 70 college, technical and career school, military, job training, and community service representatives will be available to answer questions from parents and students.  Post Secondary Night will provide valuable information for all students as they make plans for their lives “beyond high school.”  There is no charge for the event.  Requests for sign language interpreters can be made prior to the event by contacting the Auburn Riverside High School Career Center.
