ARHS Speech and Debate Team Competes Well
at University of Puget Sound Tournament

The Auburn Riverside High School (ARHS) Speech and Debate team competed at the University of Puget Sound Tournament on Friday and Saturday, January 6 and 7. The team made an impressive showing, earning several awards and been seeded in the state tournament. To date, the Auburn Riverside Forensic team has earned more opportunities to compete at the state tournament than every other school in the West Central District region. The following students earned awards.

• James Amis, Superior Award (First Place), Open Humorous Interpretation, as well as state competition.
• Kelsey Hettman, Excellent Award, Open Humorous Interpretation, as well as state competition.
• Joe Lawrence and Tana Loan, Superior Award (First Place), Dual Interpretation, as well as state competition.
• Joe Lawrence, Excellent Award, Open Humorous Interpretation, as well as state competition.
• Tara Low, Excellent Award, Expository Speaking
• Tara Low, Superior Award, Oratory, as well as state competition.
• Jack Peace, Superior Award, Expository Speaking, as well as state competition.
