On Monday, December 12, the Auburn School Board of Directors will recognize Rainier Middle School eighth grade student, Nick Courtney, for being an outstanding student. As Rainier Middle School’s ASB president, Nick contributes much to his school environment. He is a natural born leader and continually takes an active role in providing activities through his position as ASB president. “Nick spends countless hours working before and after school, and many times into the evening. His contagious energy, his strong self confidence, and ability to be a positive leader continually impress those around him,” said ASB advisor, Jana Thomas. Diane Abraham, leadership and computer applications teacher, praised his leadership style as well. “Nick led this year’s first pep assembly, along with another student, and many staff members congratulated the leadership class on the excellent job they did. One of the reasons it went so well was due to Nick’s leadership abilities.”
