Third Annual Auburn All-Schools Food Drive
to Be Held on January 9-20, 2007

The third annual Auburn All-Schools Food Drive begins on January 9. For 11 days Auburn schools will collect canned foods and monetary donations for families and people in need in the Auburn community. All food and proceeds will be donated to the Auburn Food Bank.

Local restaurants have volunteered to offer free lunches to the winning class in each school. Additionally, the school to bring in the most food at the elementary, middle and high school levels will receive a trophy and be recognized at the Auburn Food Bank’s annual Harvest Breakfast.

In the first Auburn All-Schools Food Drive 45,395 pounds of food was collected, and $816 was donated to the Auburn Food Bank. Last year 68,625 pounds of food was collected, and $4,804 was donated. This year participation is expected to increase.
