At the Monday, June 10 board meeting, the Auburn School Board of Directors appointed Carol Helgerson as a board member representing Director District 2. Ms. Helgerson is replacing Donna Foxley who recently resigned from the board after being appointed to the post of United States Department of Education's representative for Region X. Ms. Helgerson has lived in the district for 16 years and has two children attending Auburn schools. She holds a bachelor degree from the Washington State University and has worked in the community college system for ten years. In her current position in conference services at Highline Community College, she is involved in policy and budgetary decisions. For the past two years, she has served on the board of directors for the Washington Chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation. Ms. Helgerson will be sworn in at the regular board meeting on Monday, June 24 at 7 p.m. in the James P. Fugate Board Room.
