Auburn Teen Selected as
Miss Washington's Outstanding Teen 2006

Lakeland Hills’ Outstanding Teen, Stefanie Range, 13, was crowned Miss Washington’s Outstanding Teen at the third annual Miss Washington’s Outstanding Teen Pageant at the Auburn Performing Arts Center on May 28.

Stefanie, the daughter of Jane and Allen Range, is a Mt. Baker Middle School eighth grader. Her platform is Enhancing Communities Through the Arts, and her career goal is to become a veterinarian.

Stefanie is an avid singer and performed Shy from the musical Once Upon a Mattress for the talent portion of the competition. She had the honor of playing the male lead of Gavroche in Les Miserable and was recently awarded the role of Liesl in the Auburn Dinner Theatre’s production of Sound of Music.

Rounding out the top five were first runner-up Spokane’s Outstanding Teen, Emily Roll; second runner-up Snohomish County’s Outstanding Teen, Jean-Sun Ahn; third runner-up Sammamish’s Outstanding Teen, Veronica Miracle; and fourth runner-up Moses Lake’s Outstanding Teen, Caitlynn Lawson.

Eighteen teen contestants competed for the honor to represent Washington State at the second annual Miss America’s Outstanding Teen Pageant in Orlando, Florida, August 16-19.

As part of the Miss Washington Scholarship Organization, a preliminary to Miss America, Miss Washington’s Outstanding Teen encourages teens to pursue scholastic excellence, community involvement and positive lifestyle choices.
