Kindergarten Registration Information

Kindergarten registration for the Auburn School District’s 2008-09 school year begins on April 14, 2008.  Parents are encouraged to register their five-year-old child as soon as possible after this date.  Early registration will help us plan effectively, have sufficient staff, and create a smooth introduction for students entering kindergarten.  Elementary schools are open for registration between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. daily.

 

At the time of registration, please bring your child’s official birth certificate.  In addition, State law requires that parents present up-to-date immunization information documenting that their children meet State requirements before being registered in school.  Your local elementary school secretary can give you a list of all needed immunizations.  Required immunizations include: 

 

·         MMR (measles, mumps, rubella) - 2 doses 1st dose on or after
   first birthday.  2nd dose at least 28 days after 1st dose.

·         DTaP (diphtheria, tetanus and pertussis) – 4 doses if last
  dose is on or after the fourth birthday

·         Polio:

·         3 doses if last dose is on or after fourth birthday

·         4 doses if all doses are before the fourth birthday,

·         Hepatitis B (3-shot series)

·         Varicella (chicken pox) –2 doses: 1st dose on or after first
    birthday. , Blood titer or medical provider diagnosis is
    needed for verification of disease.

 

 Please call your neighborhood elementary school if you have
 questions.

REGISTRATION INFORMATION:

To register your child, the child must be 5 years of age on or 
before August 31.

INFORMATION TO BRING:

Please take the following items with you to registration:

  • bring original birth certificate, the school will retain a copy of your child's birth certificate

  • updated immunization record

  • emergency names and phone numbers
