Auburn Riverside High School Forensic Team
Competes in State Tournament

The Auburn Riverside Forensic Team competed at the State Tournament on Saturday, March 11. The team placed second overall out of nearly forty 4A high schools. This is the tenth year Auburn Riverside has placed in the top five at the State individual events tournament. Thirteen students competed in the tournament. The following students earned top awards and will also represent Auburn Riverside High School at the National Tournament in Dallas on June 18-23:

• Alaina Gordon, 2nd place in Humorous Interpretation
• Joe Lawrence, 3rd place in Humorous Interpretation
• Tara Low, 3rd place in Oratory
• Jack Peace, 1st place in Expository
• Joe Lawrence and Tana Loan, 2nd place in Dual Interpretation

Mark Davis, Auburn Riverside High School debate and speech advisor, recognizes the hard work and effort the students have invested into the forensic team: “This marks the culmination of a year of dedication and hard work, and we are very proud of these students and the entire team for all of their accomplishments.”
