Increased Breakfast Participation in Auburn Schools

Auburn School District’s Child Nutrition Program received a $3,000 Expanding Breakfast Grant from the Washington State Dairy Council in early 2006. The district’s four middle schools—Cascade, Mt. Baker, Olympic, and Rainier—each received $750 to increase breakfast participation.

All four middle schools have reported a tremendous breakfast participation increase between September 2005 and February 2006:

• Cascade up 43%
• Mt. Baker up 51%
• Olympic up 14%
• Rainier up 126%
