NEWS RELEASE
It's Time:  2006-07 Kindergarten Registration

Kindergarten registration for Auburn School District’s 2006-2007 school year will begin on April 17, 2006. Elementary schools will be open for registration between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. daily. Parents are encouraged to register their five-year-old children on or shortly after this date. Early registration helps the schools plan effectively, have sufficient staff, and create a smooth introduction for students entering kindergarten.

Parents must bring their child’s official birth certificate and a current immunization record at the time of registration. The legislature passed a state law requiring parents to present immunization information documenting that their children meet the state requirements before being registered at school.

The local elementary schools can provide a list of all needed immunizations, or view them online at http://www.auburn.wednet.edu/immunization/Default.htm. Newly required immunizations include: a second MMR (measles, mumps, rubella) for students entering K-12; the three-shot series for Hepatitis B for students entering K-9; and one dose of varicella (chicken pox) after their first birthday for children entering K-6.
