Auburn Students Win Washington State PTA Honors
Two outstanding students in the Auburn School District are award-winners of the 2005-2006 Washington State PTA Reflections Program.
Karol Jezek from Lake View Elementary School, receiving an Award of Excellence in Primary Literature, and Kylie Magar from Hazelwood Elementary, receiving an Award of Excellence in Intermediate Choreography/Dance, will be honored at the Washington State PTA Reflections Awards Ceremony on April 1, 2006, from 1:00-3:30 p.m. at the Highline Performing Arts Center, 401 South 152nd Street, Burien, WA 98166. The ceremony is open to the public and free of charge.
The annual cultural arts Reflections Program encourages students to pursue artistic expression, offering students the opportunity to create art in four areas: literature, musical composition, photography, and visual arts. The Washington State PTA also offers two non-traditional categories: film/video and choreography/dance. Each year students create art supporting a specific theme. This year’s theme is “I Wonder Why…” Students from across the state submitted their works of art to their local PTA or PTSA, and awards were presented in each arts category, for each grade division.
