Auburn School District Students Qualify for Washington State
Solo and Ensemble Contest

On Saturday, March 8, Auburn choir students from Auburn High School (AHS), Auburn Mountainview High School (AMHS) and Auburn Riverside High School (ARHS) participated in the West Central District III Solo and Ensemble Contest at Auburn High School. Ten area high schools participated in this year’s competition.

The following Auburn School District students qualified as winners and first and second alternates for the 2008 Washington State Solo and Ensemble Contest in Ellensburg at Central Washington University on April 25-26, 2008.

Mezzo Soprano

• Winner: Rachel Pack, AMHS

• 2nd Alternate: Kalie Krueger, AHS

Baritone

• Winner: Daniel McCafferty, AMHS

Mixed Large Ensemble

• Winner: A Cappella Ensemble of Jessica Schmit, Rachel Pack, Jamie Ritson, Maddie Slettedahl, Katie Farrell, Kylie LiaBraaten, Svetlana Spatarel, Cathy Cederwall, Daniel McCafferty, Dmitriy Spatarel, Corey LiaBraaten, Jake Lombardo and Daniel Frerichs, AMHS

Men’s Small Ensemble

• Winner: Barbershop Quartet of Jake Lombardo, Dmitriy Spatarel, Corey LiaBraaten and Daniel Frerichs, AMHS

• 2nd Alternate: Men’s Duet of Travis Anderson and Tyler Anderson, AHS

Tenor

• Winner: Daniel Schreiner, ARHS

• 1st Alternate: Thaddeus Wilson, AHS

• 2nd Alternate: Dmitriy Spatarel, AMHS

Bass

• 2nd Alternate: Zac Berry, AMHS

Men’s Large Ensemble
