NEWS RELEASE
Terminal Park Elementary School Recycles
2,000 Milk Cartons in One Week

On Thursday, March 13, at 2 p.m., Terminal Park Elementary School students will discover just how many milk cartons they recycle on average in a week. At this month’s Superstar Assembly, Terminal Park’s “Green Team,” a team of students committed to cutting down waste at Terminal Park, will show off all 2,000 milk cartons they and their fellow classmates have recycled in a week’s time. Additionally, the class with the best effort will be awarded the “Earth Idol” award at the assembly.

Mr. Martin, Terminal Park’s fourth grade teacher who created the Green Team, reports that the Auburn Education Association awarded the Green Team a grant to purchase rubber gloves and dish drying pans, which will encourage classes to continue rinsing and drying their milk cartons prior to being placed in the recycling bins.

For more information, contact Michael Martin, fourth grade teacher at Terminal Park Elementary School, at 253-931-4978.
