Terminal Park Hosting Sixth Annual
Culture Fair on Thursday, May 30
Terminal Park Elementary School will be hosting its sixth annual Culture Fair on Thursday, May 30, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. This year’s event will focus on South America with teachers and students choosing some aspect of South America to study and share with the community through visual or interactive displays. The school’s breezeway will be transformed into the Amazon Rain Forest with the entire school contributing a variety of flora and fauna. There will be an accompanying music program in the gym at 6 p.m.
In conjunction with the Culture Fair, the Terminal Park PTA will be simultaneously holding its annual Art Walk in the gym to display students’ artwork. The Art Walk is part of an art program implemented at the elementary school by volunteers. Every class, grades first through fifth, receives a monthly lesson about a particular art print, including information about the artist and a variety of art techniques and genres. Kim Mitchell, PTA volunteer, coordinates the program. The volunteers are trained through Green River Community College.
