Ilalko Elementary School to Receive
New Playground
Ilalko Elementary School will cut the ribbon on its new playground made possible by King County, the Muckleshoot Tribal Council, and the Ilalko Elementary School PTA.
“Ilalko Elementary School is thankful for the partnership that brought us this playground,” said principal Ryan Foster. “King County, the Muckleshoot Tribal Council and our own PTA have greatly improved the playground for the kids at this school.”
The new age-appropriate playground will expand the playground use by all students attending Ilalko Elementary School. It was funded with a $22,757 Youth Sports Facility Grant from King County, matching funds of $11,378 from the school’s PTA, a generous donation from the Muckleshoot Tribal Council and in-kind services from the Auburn School District.
“I would like to thank King County, the Muckleshoot Tribal Council and the Auburn School District for their support of this project,” said PTA president Deanna Sader. “This new playground is here for many children to enjoy for years to come.”
King County’s Youth Sports Facilities Grant program provides matching grant funding to rehabilitate, expand, or develop sports fields and facilities serving youth in King County. Over the past five years, it has helped to build 27 new playgrounds throughout King County.
