"Good Morning, America" Learns About
Nutrition at Ilalko Elementary

The nationally broadcast television program, Good Morning, America, and its crew are visiting Ilalko Elementary School on Tuesday, May 27 at 8:30 a.m. to tape Vickie Leaf’s first grade class and a first grade performance about nutrition.  Ms. Leaf, a primary specialist, has recently won First Place in Dole’s “Creative 5 a Day Teacher of the Year” for 2003.  Since 1997, Dole Food Company has annually selected three outstanding elementary educators for this reward in support of the National 5 a Day for Better Health Program.  To be considered, teachers who have created unique curricular activities that motivate students submit their health and nutrition curriculum.  Ms. Leaf, as first place winner, will receive a trip for four to Disneyland and her first grade students were given A Five a Day party by the Dole Food Company.
