Auburn School District Awarded
Superintendent of Public Instruction's Academic Improvement Award

On April 24, the Auburn School District Board of Directors received commemorative plates that represent the gains made in the Academic Improvement Awards Program for 2004-2005. The plates were adhered to the Academic Achievement Award Plaque presented to the district last year for gains made in 2003-2004.

Schools and districts receive Academic Improvement Awards if they reduce by 10 percent the number of students who miss meeting the reading, mathematics or writing goals from one school year to the next. A school district earns this distinction in reading, writing and/or mathematics for the fourth, seventh and/or tenth grade levels.
