NEWS RELEASE
Auburn School District's Board of Directors
Honors Student Tiffany Ferderer
On Monday, May 22, the Auburn School District Board of Directors recognized Tiffany Ferderer, a fourth grader at Dick Scobee Elementary School, for her outstanding student achievements.
Tiffany is a fourth grader in Mr. Pfab’s class. Her academic performance is Oscar-worthy. She has earned straight As in both the first and second trimesters this year.
She diligently works on her assignments and often does more than is required of her. She is a talented writer and recently wrote a compelling story. According to Mr. Pfab, “It is one of the best stories I’ve read in several years.”
Tiffany is curious and creative. She thought it would be fun to perform a “play” using the AVerVision projector in class. Mr. Pfab told her that if she wrote a play, she could perform it for the class. The next morning she arrived with a script, props and Popsicle-stick characters. Her play centered on bullying, which highlighted the anti-bullying program occurring on campus. She has even performed it for other classes.
Tiffany serves as a conflict manager at recess and is also a member of the Young Astronauts program. She has a great sense of humor and likes to hear and tell jokes.
Mr. Pfab truly appreciates Tiffany for her ability to pay attention to valuable life lessons and for her willingness to always do what is best for herself and for others. Recently Tiffany’s health class was discussing safety. Mr. Pfab mentioned that carrying a whistle is a good idea to attract attention and ward off danger. The next day Tiffany came to school with a whistle. Another time Mr. Pfab saw Tiffany riding in the front seat of a car on the way to school. Mr. Pfab asked Tiffany if that was the safest place to ride since the class had recently talked about the dangers of riding in the front seat. The next morning when Tiffany drove by, there was Tiffany, smiling and waving from the backseat. “I have enjoyed working with Tiffany this year. She brings a lot of positive characteristics to the class,” says Mr. Pfab.
