Auburn School District Team to Attend
2007 Washington State LASER Strategic Planning Institute

A team of educators from Auburn School District has been accepted into the 2007 Washington State Leadership and Assistance for Science Education Reform (LASER) Strategic Planning Institute on June 25-30 in Bellingham, Washington. Boeing is the team sponsor and is covering all costs associated with the team’s participation.

The event is a six-day program of interactive sessions in which leadership teams from participating districts will develop a shared vision of effective science learning and teaching, learn the components of the infrastructure needed to support a research-based science program, and develop a strategic plan for improving science instruction in their respective districts.

According to Auburn Superintendent Linda Cowan, “Science education reform is critical to the success of quality public education. Programs like the Washington State LASER Science Education Strategic Planning Institute are key to reaching new heights in science education.”
