Auburn High Students Earn $4,500 Scholarships at
State Automotive Competition

Congratulations to Cody Barker, Auburn High senior, and Jon Jorgenson, Auburn High junior, for their fourth place finish at the Washington State Ford AAA Competition on Tuesday, April 24, 2007. After qualifying for the competition through a written assessment, Cody and Jon participated in the vehicle repair contest. They were required to diagnose and make repairs on a vehicle. They were one of only four groups to make a “perfect” repair, and they finished within three minutes of the first place team. Both Cody and Jon were awarded $4,500 scholarships to be used for their post-secondary training.

Later that evening Jon participated in a go-kart event sponsored by the Washington State Ford AAA Committee. Jon drove the course like a pro, earning the “fastest car for the day” trophy.
