Cascade Middle School Students Win Cash Prize in
Washington State Law Enforcement Association Statewide Essay Contest

Two of the top three Region 1 winners for the Washington State Law Enforcement Association (WSLEA) statewide eighth grade essay contest are from Mrs. Dozier’s class at Cascade Middle School. Naomi Tsai captured first place, and Alexis Karnofski earned second place.

Each applicant was required to submit an essay no more than 750 words addressing the theme: “Why I will say NO to Alcohol and Drugs.”

Naomi and Alexis were awarded with certificates and cash prizes. First place earned $200 and second place earned $150.
