    Reverend George Fyler Townsend (1814-1900) and Ambrose Bierce (1842-1914) translated most of he 655 fables by Aesop, indexed in table format with morals, available at this site. Also included are fables by Jean de la Fontaine, fairy tales by Hans Christian Andersen, and other literature selections.
  • Hans Christian Andersen
    Born in Odense, Denmark, Hans Christian Andersen is best known for his fairy tales. This Web site lists all 168 of Andersen's stories in the chronological order of their original publication. Most are in the public domain and are available online in full text with their original illustrations by Vilhelm Pedersen and Lorenz Folich.
