The Library of Congress
The Library of Congress presents information about its collections on the World Wide Web. Some of the current offerings include historical collections from American Memory, several LC exhibits, the POW/MIA database, country studies, and links to LC MARVEL and LOCIS. Some of the LC exhibits available online include Rome Reborn: The Vatican Library and Renaissance Culture; Revelations from the Russian Archives; scrolls from the Dead Sea; 1492: an Ongoing Voyage; African American Culture and History; The Russian Church and Native Alaskan Cultures; The Gettysburg Address; and Temple of Liberty: Building the Capitol for a New Nation.

National Museum of American History
The National Museum of American History, a bureau of the Smithsonian Institution, is responsible for the collection, care, and preservation of more than 17 million artifacts, including 14 million stamps housed in the National Postal Museum. The collections represent material evidence of the nation's heritage in the areas of science, technology, and culture, they include coins and medals, automobiles, First Ladies gowns, the John Bull Locomotive, presidential campaign items, musical instruments, military weapons, the star-spangled Banner (the flag), Thomas Edison's phonograph, early digital and electronic computing machines, ship models, steam engines, and innumerable artifacts of everyday life. In addition to virtual tours of the museum, there are virtual exhibitions

Patterns of Our Lives: American History
Patterns of Our Lives contains a collection of American history education resources on the Internet. Internet resources are divided into newsgroups and Web resources. Each resources is briefly annotated.

SCORE History-Social Science Resources
The SCORE (Schools of California Online Resources for Education Web site has resources and lessons by grade level, by topic, and by keyword. Lessons and activities follow the California frameworks and standards, which are similar to those in many states.

This Day in History from the History Channel
This Day in History from the History Channel highlights various past events for each day of the year.

For any given month and day, Today In History's database provides information on famous historical birthdays, deaths, historical events, lists of those reported missing in action, holidays, religious observances, religious historical events, and a thought for the day.
