NEWS RELEASE
Auburn School Board to Recognize
Bob Odman, Assistant Principal of ARHS

On Monday, November 25, the Auburn School District Board of Directors will be recognizing Bob Odman, Auburn Riverside High School assistant principal, for being an excellent educational leader.  Bruce Phillips, Auburn Riverside High School principal, observes that “Bob Odman performs like a co-principal at Auburn Riverside because he has such a great deal of administrative experience and understands the entire management of a large comprehensive high school.  He is very knowledgeable, efficient, and organized.”  Mr. Odman is renown for his development of master schedules which are essential to the smooth operation of high schools.  “During 1994, while he was still the assistant principal at Olympic, Mr. Odman was interviewed and identified as the assistant principal for Auburn Riverside.  He was very influential in the planning and scheduling for the new high school” said Mr. Phillips.  In the fall 1995 opening of Auburn Riverside High School, Mr. Odman began as the new school’s assistant principal.  Mr. Odman is appreciated by staff for his support of both regular and alternative programs.  During the 2000-01, he assisted ARHS teachers, Geri Rohlff and Gregg Collette, in starting an after school program for students who were credit deficient because of absences caused by medical reasons or rehabilitation.  Last year, his support of programs for credit deficient students enabled 59 courses to be completed by students.  Prior to coming to Auburn School District in 1983, Mr. Odman worked in Edmonds and Snoqualmie School Districts as a mathematics teacher.  In Auburn, he taught mathematics at Auburn High School for three years as well as being the head coach for the girls’ track team.  In 1986, he became the assistant principal at Olympic Junior High where he served until the opening of ARHS in 1995.  1994, Mr. Odman was selected as the Regional Assistant Principal of the Year by the Association of Washington Middle Level Principals.
