New High School's Name is Selected

At the Monday, November 24 Auburn School Board meeting, the school board of directors selected the name for the new high school that is being built in the Lea Hill area.  The name selected is Auburn Mountainview High School (AMHS).  The directors made this selection from over 700 school names submitted for their consideration from the community.

The construction on the new high school remains on schedule to open to students in September 2005.  Selection of the new high school’s planning principal will occur during March and April, 2004. 

The important process of determining the new high school’s attendance area will begin in March, 2004 when a committee of community members and staff commences.  The committee will present its recommendations to the school board by January 2005.
