NEWS RELEASE
Auburn School District has
Safe Drinking Water Program
Auburn School District is committed to providing safe drinking water as part of an overall safe and healthy environment for students, staff, and members of the community.
Auburn School District recently tested the water in schools constructed prior to 1985. Consultants measured and tested first-draw and running samples of water taken from strategic locations within these schools in accordance with Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) standards. The level of lead in the schools’ drinking water falls safely within federal limits with all samples registering below 15 parts per billion (ppb) lead. Federal guidelines recommend that schools take action if contamination exceeds 20 ppb. Test results are available for review at the Auburn School District Support Services Center.
