Olympic Middle School's Participation in
Heart Walk 2004 Earns the School an AED

On Friday, November 12, Olympic Middle School found out from the American Heart Association that the school’s 2004 Heart Walk team had raised enough money and had enough walkers in the October 9 Heart Walk held at Qwest Field to earn an automatic emergency defibrillator (AED). The school had about 35 walkers and raised $2051 from staff, students, the PTA, friends and family members. One staff member who walked was himself saved by an EMT defibrillator after collapsing at school. Olympic’s service club, the Builders’ Club, was instrumental in the school’s participation in the Heart Walk. The Builders’ Club is sponsored by the Auburn Valley Kiwanias. Susan Kindem and Jennifer Miller are the Builders’ Club advisor.
