Child Nutrition Program Selected to
Receive the 2006 Expanding Breakfast Grant from
Washington State Dairy Council

Auburn School District’s Child Nutrition Program has been selected to receive the 2006 Expanding Breakfast Grant of $3,000 from the Washington State Dairy Council. Auburn School District was lauded for its innovative concepts to increase middle school breakfast participation by bringing breakfast to the students. The district proposed using the grant funds to start a Grab and Go “where the kids are” program. Each of the district’s four middle schools will receive $750 to increase participation by students in the breakfast program. Eric Boutin is the Auburn School District Child Nutrition supervisor.
