Auburn High School Band Members Selected to All-State Band

Congratulations to Auburn High School orchestra members Emily Golan and Julie Chang, and band members Saeward Schillaci and Jordan Dusek for being selected through auditions to represent Auburn High School at the Washington State Music Educator’s (WMEA) All-State Conference on February 13-18, 2008 in Yakima.

Outstanding music students from across Washington have received top honors by being selected to participate in the 54th annual WMEA All-State Band, Orchestra, Choir, Jazz Band and/or Jazz Choir. Emily, Julie, Saeward and Jordan will join 950 other outstanding high school student musicians in this gala event.

The finest high school musicians in each of these musical genres will rehearse together under the direction of world-renowned conductors and present their final concert in Yakima’s historic Capitol Theatre and grand Sun Dome.

Well-known Washingtonians who have participated in past years’ WMEA All-State groups include The Seattle Post-Intelligencer’s Pulitzer Prize-winning editorial cartoonist and columnist Dave Horsey,  2008 National Teacher of the Year Andrea Peterson, former Spokane County Sheriff Mark Sterk and jazz saxophonist Kenny G.
