School Board of Directors Recognize Kerri Nixon
On Monday, October 22, the Auburn School District Board of Directors recognized Kerri Nixon, maintenance department administrative assistant, for her excellent job performance. “Kerri is friendly and level-headed. She is able to manage phone calls, radio communications, and inter-office conversations at the same time with extraordinary patience and calm,” says Randy Thomas, director of maintenance and operations. “Kerri is also an outstanding representative of the maintenance and department. Typically, she is the first staff person individuals will encounter when contacting the department. She is very good at setting a tone of professionalism and customer service.” Kerri is a very efficient problem solver. Her responsibilities include coordinating substitute custodians and managing the department’s work order system which she performs with flexibility and efficiency. “Kerri is always willing to go the extra mile to ensure the maintenance and operations department runs smoothly,” says Mr. Thomas. Kerri has worked for Auburn School District for 11.5 years. Before coming to the maintenance and operations department five years ago, Kerri worked at Alpac Elementary School as a para-educator in the LAP reading program and the school’s library. Kerri enjoys the highly varied challenges of her job and her fellow staff members including supervisors and maintenance technicians. She is currently studying Spanish to accommodate the increasing diverse community in which she lives and works.
