Two Teachers Recently Awarded "Flight to the Future"
Science Education Grants from The Boeing Company

 

Two Auburn School District teachers have recently been awarded "Flight to the Future" science education grants from The Boeing Company.  Laine Lenihan, science teacher at West Auburn High School, was awarded a grant of $10,000 for a five-year project to create an independent study science program at the alternative high school.  The long-term project will focus on allowing students to have continuous access to science materials to support their learning styles in science.  Kirsten Gravning, science teacher at Rainier Middle School, was recognized for the high quality of her proposal.  She was awarded $1,000 for her Green, Grow and Go project which will integrate the hands-on experience of gardening with studying the growth and development of plant life and the environmental concerns in the Northwest.
