NEWS RELEASE
School Board of Directors to Recognize
Gildo Rey Elementary School Fifth Grader

On Monday, October 27, the Auburn School Board of Directors recognized Gildo Rey Elementary School fifth grader, Nsomah Apambire, for her positive attitude towards education.  Nsomah was born in Ghana, Africa, and has traveled throughout the United States and Canada extensively because of her father’s career.  Mr. Apambire is a hydrology specialist and is currently working for World Vision.  “Nsomah is one of the best students I have ever had, not just in terms of grades, but in her approach to learning.  She asks questions all of the time: ‘what does that word mean, how do you do this, where is that?’  She then takes that knowledge and applies it.  Nsomah is constantly seeking to know more.  She has come a long way since last year when she was hesitant to talk in front of others.  She is now a fairly confident speaker,” said her classroom teacher, Adam Couch.  Nsomah Apambire is a wonderful school citizen who is very respectful and honest.
