Dick Scobee Elementary Participation in Heart Walk
Earns School an AED

Dick Scobee Elementary School’s staff, students, and PTA participated in the American Heart Association’s 2004 Heart Walk that was held on Saturday, October 9 at Qwest Field (Seahawks Stadium) in Seattle.  By raising a certain amount of participants and pledges for the Heartwalk, the school earned an automated emergency defibrillator (AED) and training on it for school staff.  Dick Scobee Elementary was so committed to getting an AED as well as supporting the worthwhile Heart Walk cause that it surpassed the required 100 walkers by signing up 137 individuals and surpassed the required $2,500 in pledges by raising $3,000.

Mountainview Community Church of Auburn was very helpful in assisting the school by donating money and providing walkers.  As part of the program, Dick Scobee Elementary’s entire staff and PTA will be trained, free of charge, on the AED as soon as it arrives.
