Nadine Sims Awarded 2004
Promising Practices Achievement Award

Nadine Sims, Olympic Middle School language arts and science teacher, was awarded the 2004 Promising Practices Achievement Award for Use of Promising Practices by the Migrant Education Association.  Ms. Sims and two other Washington State educators were selected because of their efforts in the classroom working with low-income students, English as Language Leaner (ELL) students, and students with a high risk of dropping out.  The teachers shared effective teaching practices such as using differentiated instruction, building relationships with the students, and having an awareness or understanding of the individual needs that many students.
