NEWS RELEASE
"Kids Make a Difference Day"

Kim Foss, Lea Hill Elementary School fifth grade teacher and ASB advisor, spear-headed the school’s first "Kids Make A Difference Day.” The project’s focus was to clean-up the school’s National Educational Landmark Nature Trail. Ms. Foss brought together students, families, and local scout groups in a joint effort to clean up the heavily overgrown trail. The volunteers worked from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 22. The end result was a freshly spruced up trail where litter, blackberry bushes, and overgrown greens are now removed, making the trail attractive for class visits and studies.

For more information, contact Lea Hill Elementary School principal, Donna Dussault-Walker, at (253) 931-4982.
