High School Washington Aerospace Scholar to Speak
to Junior Class About the Scholarship Program
On Tuesday, October 23, Kayla Fix, one of four Washington Aerospace Scholars from Auburn School District, will be speaking to the Auburn Mountainview High School junior class about her experience with the Washington Aerospace Scholars program that she participated in over the summer. Kayla will speak during third period in the Auburn Mountainview High School career center.
Kayla’s formal presentation of the program and Q & A session will help to motivate other students who may be interested in pursuing the opportunity.
The Washington Aerospace Scholars Summer Residency program provides opportunities for Washington State high school students interested in science, technology, engineering and math to explore the subjects through hands-on challenges such as designing a human mission to Mars and a model rocket design, construction and launch.
Applications for the 2008 summer residency program will be accepted through November 7, 2007.
