Note
cards
These offer you another very simple way to record important facts. When
you're ready to write the report, just rearrange the cards in logical
order and write connecting statements. The report practically writes
itself!
•
Give your card a title (identify the topic of the card).
•
Use a separate card for each bit of information.
•
Be sure to list the source where you find the information.
Here's
an example of what you might find on a note card:
Topic:
dogs in space before people
Source #1 (This number identifies your
source. See the BIBLIOGRAPHY section).
Information
(or quote):
"Before
astronauts orbited Earth, dogs paved the way for future exploration
and for putting people in space."
Page
34 (Identifies the
page where you found your information)
Note:
You don't have to copy the whole sentence. It's okay to use phrases
or part of a sentence.
Don't
forget to put QUOTATION MARKS around anything you copy word-for-word.
