The Auburn School District does not provide medical insurance coverage for school accidents.  This means parents are responsible for medical bills if a student is hurt during school activities.  The district does provide information about a student accident health insurance plan, although this plan is not recommended over any other plan, as many coverage options are available.  The plan is made available to parents for their consideration.

A student accident health insurance plan is an excellent idea for those students with no other insurance, as the plan provides help when injuries happen.  The student health care plan covers illness as well as injury, 24 hours a day.  If a student is participating in interscholastic sports, it is particularly an excellent idea.

If a student has other health coverage, student insurance may also be used to help pay for those eligible charges not covered by other insurance (i.e., deductibles and co-payments).  If one has any questions regarding the plan, please call the company on the telephone number listed on their brochure.

Text Box: Dear Parents,
The new school year is off to a very successful start. We are especially pleased to see how well our new sixth-grade students have transitioned to the middle school environment. We've seen how
the WEB (Where Everyone Belongs) program has made such a significant difference in helping nervous, new middle schoolers start the school year with greater confidence and begin their learning at an accelerated rate. I would like to especially commend all of our eighth grade student Web leaders, who spent
so much time in the summer preparing
for our WEB orientation day and will continue to mentor our sixth-grade students throughout the school year. Congratulations Web leaders on the job very well done!
I would like to make an early invitation to all of you to attend our Open House on September 13. Open House is an excellent opportunity to come and meet your child's teachers and become familiar with curriculum and instructional plans that your child will experience throughout the school year. It's also a great opportunity to remember what school is like through the eyes of a young person. I look forward to seeing as many of you as possible in the gymnasium beginning at seven o'clock.
