Two New Principals Take the Lead in
Two of Auburn's Secondary Schools
Two secondary schools in Auburn School District will have new principals to lead them into the 2001-2002 school year. Brad Sprague has been selected as the new principal of West Auburn High School and Sally Colburn will be the new principal at Rainier Middle School. Both administrators have proven records of educational leadership.
Brad Sprague has been in education since 1977, teaching social studies and physical education and coaching three sports. In 1986, Brad came from Federal Way School District to Auburn High School (AHS) to teach social studies and coach football and baseball. In 1996, he became the associate principal at South Kitsap High School. The following year, Brad returned to AHS as an assistant principal where he provided strong leadership.
From 1982 to 1984, Sally Colburn taught mathematics, art, and physical education at Lake Quinault and Stanwood High Schools. In 1989, she became the athletic director, physical education teacher, and coach at Tahoma Junior High. In 1994, she became an assistant principal at Tahoma and, in 1999, became assistant principal at Mt. Baker Middle School. Ms. Colburn is looking forward to providing quality leadership at Rainier Middle School.
