NEWS RELEASE
Washington Business Week to be
Held at West Auburn High School on October 21-25

Business Week has been teaching local students about business, ethics, and leadership for over 25 years.  We are very fortunate to be one of 15 communities across the state that will have the opportunity to share this wonderful experience with our local students this school year.

Here's how you can help:

The critical need now is for "Company Advisors" willing to mentor students three days to a week--all day--every day.

Business Week gets the students excited about their own potential and teaches them about the challenges and the opportunities of the American system of free enterprise.  They are divided into teams of 12-20 students and each team becomes its own "company."  The companies compete with each other in a business simulation for the entire week.  The program teaches students business principles, ethics, and teamwork, and most importantly, that business is good.  It's the platform of their dreams and our country's economy depends on them being responsible and productive members of it.  They are also taught that, in one way or another, we're all in business...as owners, managers, workers, consumers, and citizens.  The more we understand how it all works, the better it will be!

The Company Advisor is a crucial part of the program as he/she has the hands-on business experience and serves as a guide to the students.  It's a great week for students and volunteers alike!  We are in need of a minimum of 14 Company Advisors to mentor the 200 students at West Auburn High School.  We hope you might be interested in serving or might know someone who would.
