NEWS RELEASE
West Auburn Students Selected to Attend
Costco Wholesale Jr. College

Twelve West Auburn High School students have been selected to attend Costco Wholesale Jr. College, a program developed to provide “business education” classes for high school juniors and seniors.  The program will also introduce students to information about job opportunities available in corporate America.  The program provides “hands on” interactive learning experiences and the students have the opportunity to earn extra credit toward graduation.  Students that need additional credits will be able to earn one credit for two semesters.  Costco provides lecture materials and presentations for the students as well as transportation and lunches.  All classes are scheduled at the Costco Wholesale office located at 999 Lake Drive, Issaquah, and are offered two to three times per month throughout the school year.   To graduate, the students need to attend a minimum of 20 days of four one-hour classes.  Some of the classes being offered are: career development; community relations, risk management, E-Commerce, and quality assurance.  Participating students will also have the opportunity to interview for a paid summer internship at Costco.  The West Auburn High School students selected participate in the school’s Learning Center program or Diversified Occupations program.  Teachers Linda Myers and Colleen Rayburn may be contacted at (253) 931-4990.
